Gisele Bündchen, Ex Victoria’s Secret Angel, Mourns the Loss of Her Mother
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen, age 43, bid farewell to her beloved mother Vania Nonnenmacher, who passed away last Sunday at the age of 75 after battling cancer. The former Victoria’s Secret angel shared a tribute on social media a few hours ago, honoring her mother by remembering the lessons she taught, the shared love, and the courage she instilled in her to start her modeling career at the age of 14.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the top model paid homage to her late mother, describing her as “the best role model of love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace.” Through a carousel of photos, Gisele Bündchen shared with her followers the most intense moments she experienced with her mother. Alongside the images, she wrote, “It hurts to know that I won’t be able to hug you anymore, but I know you will always be watching over us. You were an angel on earth, always helping anyone around you. I am so grateful to be your daughter and to have learned from you. I will always cherish the beautiful memories we shared and will live by the values you taught me. You will live forever through the many lives you touched.”
The model’s tender words deeply moved her fans, who expressed their condolences for her grave loss. Gisele Bündchen’s mother, who worked as a bank clerk, was married to a university professor. It was she who launched her daughter into the world of modeling: at the age of 14, she enrolled Gisele in a deportment course to participate in a debutante ball. At the end of the course, during a trip to San Paulo, the young girl was noticed by an agent inside a McDonald’s, who convinced her to participate in the Elite Model Look competition, always spurred and encouraged by her mother. From there came fame and success.
Fondly remembered as the woman who kickstarted her career, Gisele Bündchen’s mother’s legacy will live on through the memories and values she bestowed upon her daughter and the lives she touched.
